Lijiang initiates air travel program

The Old Town of Lijiang, northwest Yunnan province, initiated an air travel program on February 9.

Air travel options are open from 9am to 6pm everyday. Participants can have a bird's-eye view of Lijiang from the air, including the Old Town of Lijiang, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the first bend of the Yangtze River and Tiger Leaping Gorge.

Tourists can spend seven minutes on the helicopter to take in the whole Old Town of Lijiang. It only takes 18 minutes to reach Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from departure.

The air travel program is co-developed by the government of Lijiang and Aviation Industry Corporation of China. An AC311 helicopter will be used for the tours, with speeds reaching 242 kilometers per hour.
