The romance of Lijiang

Many people see Lijiang as a place where time seems to pass slowly and without any hassles - and urban residents sometimes think of it as the city of their dreams. They may have a romantic notion of visiting the city with their partner, looking at the view from a mountain peak over 2,000 meters above sea level - enjoying the blue sky and pure white snow.

Visitors can stroll around the ancient town of Lijiang and also visit the nearby Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, which is covered in snow all year round,with 13 peaks pointed upwards across the skyline. The main peak, Shanzi Peak, reaches 5,596 meters above the sea level, and no human has yet got to the top.

Other attractions in Lijiang include Lugu Lake, Lashi Sea, and Tiger Leaping Gorge. Visitors with enough time to spare can also experience the Tibetan lifestyle in the plateau area.

Tips: The scenic spots around Lijiang ancient town are scattered, and visitors should thus take this into account when arranging their schedules. In addition, visitors are suggested to wear sun hats and use sunblock.
