The Lijiang government presented prizes to ten airlines and the Lijiang Sanyi International Airport at a meeting to report on their performance on July 7.

The airport and companies, which included West Air Co and Shenzhen Airlines, were rewarded for their ability to maintain or increase their market shares in 2015. Zheng Yi, mayor of Lijiang, said all airlines are welcomed to visit Lijiang and add flights there. Lijiang will endeavor to provide world-class service to them.

As a renowned tourism city, Lijiang relies heavily on air transportation development to promote its travel industry.

Shan Siguang, the airport's general manager, said it is always the leader of airports in Yunnan and even in China. It aims to be a travel hub for the local tourism industry.
