Lijiang crafts highlighted at Yunnan expo

Lijiang exhibited its unique cultural products to the 2017 Creative Yunnan Culture Industries Expo in Kunming, capital city of Yunnan province, from Aug 10 to 15.

Dongba paper products, such as paper desk lamps, paper diary books and shawls, were a highlight of Lijiang's exhibition at the expo.

Dongba paper, invented and produced by the ancestor of He Shengwen about 300 years ago, was exclusively used for writing Dongba script in ancient China.

The exquisite craftsmanship of the products was well received by consumers from both home and abroad.

Lijiang's Jinsha Bamboo Crafts Co Ltd also attended the expo to display their lovely bamboo crafts, including two exquisite bamboo baskets that were filled with water to accommodate several swimming fish.

Other cultural products from Lijiang, including wood crafts, root carvings, traditional embroidery from the Miao and Yi ethnic groups, ceramics, pottery and framing articles attracted crowds of visitors during the expo.
