Lugu Lake sees tourism boom in 2017

The Lugu Lake Tourist Resort gradually gained its fame among tourists across the country with over a million tourists visiting the resort in 2017, according to the local tourist resort management committee on Jan 8.

By Dec 26 of 2017, Lugu Lake has served a total of 1.05 million tourists with a year-on-year increase of 164.49 percent and received gate receipts of 100.5 million yuan ($15.46 million).

The management committee organized various activities promoting local tourism and publicizing local tourist brands, with its attendance to the China International Travel Mart 2017 and airline promotional conferences during the year.

The Lugu Lake Airport has opened a direct flight to Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, on Dec 29 last year, making the travel time between the two cities shorter to one and a half hours.

The resort also further improved its admission ticket purchase system and pioneered to offer online ticket booking and sell tickets with automobile machines last October. Tourists can enter the resort via a QR code.

The Lugu Lake Tourist Resort is 200 kilometers away from Lijiang. As the third largest fresh and deep water lake in China, it is surrounded by woods and a dozen simple villages, including Luoshui, Lige and Langfang.

Inside the zone are clear, blue waters of Lugu Lake, Yongning Dam, Lion Mountain, Goddess Valley, 17 sand beaches and one island connected to the zone by a dyke.
