Transportation connected, booming tourism in Lugu Lake

Updated : 2018-02-02

Lugu Lake scenic zone highlighted its improved transport connections in 2017, which brought a dramatic increase in tourists in the zone, at the market promotion conference on Jan 30.

The opening of Lijiang-Ninglang road connects Luck Lake with the Old Town of Lijiang and new flights have also been built linking the zone with Kunming, capital of Yunnan province and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, further promoting the outward connections of Lugu Lake, as well as its market competitiveness.

By the end of 2017, Lugu Lake had served a total of over 1.1 million tourists with a year-on-year increase of 166 percent and received gate receipts of 102.3 million yuan ($16.17 million).

Approved as a national AAAA scenic zone in 2009, the Lugu Lake is renowned for its beautiful water sceneries and Mosuo culture and traditional customs.

He Shiyong, head of the Lijiang Tourism Development Commission, said that we should present Lugu Lake's unique nature beauty and ethnic culture to tourists all over the world. The zone will usher in new opportunities for tourist development with improved infrastructure.

Hu Zhenxing, president of Lijiang Lugu Lake Tourism Development Co Ltd, said, "I hope local tourist agencies provide better products and services for tourists."

Hu said the company will enhance favorable policies on scenic zone marketing according to the change of Lijiang's tourist market and local tourist resources.

The resort will also further improve its admission ticket purchase system. It has pioneered to offer online ticket booking and sell tickets with automobile machines last October and tourists can enter the resort via a QR code.
