The first-ever art exhibition focused on the old and mysterious Dongba culture opened at the Dongba Mysterious Realm of Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province on Feb 10.

Two exhibition halls feature art works of China's intangible cultural heritage and Yunnan's woodcutting works. Over 100 calligraphy pieces by Lyu Fengzi and oil paintings and wood prints, as well as 60 rare stones, are on display.

The exhibition, with a theme of "the realm of snowy mountains lights-up folk art", hopes to provide Lijiang art-lovers a platform for learning and exchanges and give visitors a deeper experience of Lijiang's culture.

The Dongba Mysterious Realm, built in the traditional Naxi architectural style, presents a Naxi traditional village hosting a food festival and serving locals and worldwide tourists with unique Yunnan snacks and other Chinese traditional foods.

The snacks include Tibetan butter tea, Naxi Dongba barbecue, sugar-coated figurines, and sugar paintings. Local residents can visit the village from Feb 10 to March 10 for free.

An official of the village said that the food festival will be held every year and the art exhibition every season, and will be a new destination for Lijiang residents and worldwide tourists.
