In recent years, problems in its tourist market have taken a toll on Lijiang's reputation as a popular tourist attraction. The city now highlights supervision over the quality of tourist services more than ever.
About 300 people from 100 tourist agencies were divided into four groups to monitor the stores and to follow the tourist buses to check for any offences. They also distributed over 100,000 leaflets, teaching the tourists to defend their interests.
Officers patrolled the roads and worked in shifts on a hotline to deal with complaints in a timely manner. Over 7,700 officers were on duty during the holiday and kept order by resolving people's conflicts and disputes.
