Lijiang seeks cooperation with Shenzhen-based Kangmei Pharmaceutical

Cao Jinming, deputy director of the standing committee of the Lijiang municipal People's Congress, led a delegation to medical giant Kangmei Pharmaceutical Company in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on March 6.

Ma Xingtian, president of Kangmei Pharmaceutical, exchanged ideas with Cao on the development of big health industries such as the cultivation and processing of Chinese herbal medicines and the extension of medical logistic services.

Kangmei Pharmaceutical Company and the people's government of Lijiang signed a strategic cooperation agreement on Aug 18 last year.

The two sides will work together in the fields of medical investment, cultivation and processing of authentic Chinese herbal medicines and standard research into authentic Chinese medicinal materials.

Cao Jinming said that he expected Kangmei's projects to quickly bring health and a sense of well-being to people living in Yulong Naxi autonomous county of Lijiang.

Cao also noted that it is hoped that Kangmei will accelerate the implementation of projects including planting and processing of Chinese herbal medicines and extension of pharmaceutical distribution in Yulong county, which would bolster Yunnan's health industry and make Lijiang one of its important centers.

Ma Xingtian said that the company will continue to give full play to the resource advantages of its "Smart +" health industry platform to upgrade Lijiang's health industry.
