The launching ceremony for a health town project was held in Lijiang, Yunnan province on May 9.

The project received a total investment of two billion yuan ($314 million) from Kangmei Group. This is Kangmei's first health town project in Yunnan. After completion, it will trigger the linkage effect between Lijiang and its neighboring cities; promote the advancement of Yunnan's health industry and help Yunnan develop the name cards of "green energy", "green food" and "a healthy lifestyle destination".

The health town is located in the Yulong Naxi autonomous county and is adjacent to the Old Town of Lijiang. It is expected to be completed and put into operation in about three years, covering an area of 260,000 square meters.

Kangmei Group will rely on the medical services and technology platform of its listed company Kangmei Pharmaceutical Co to build a core demonstration park for the health care industry, focusing on health examination, rehabilitation and high-end customized health care services, and integrates health tourism, health culture, international medical care and other functions.
