Tourists flock to Lijiang's Old Town during Spring Festival

The number of tourists to the Old Town of Lijiang reached a new high during the 2019 Spring Festiva holiday (Feb 4-10), as the city received 1,379,700 visits throughout the week, a year-on-year increase of 74 percent.

Statistics show that the highest number of tourists in a single day reached 257,200.

In order to ensure the safety of tourists, Lijiang launched an emergency management plan on Feb 5, in a bid to maintain order and provide assistance.

The comprehensive command and control platform of the Old Town of Lijiang received a total of 77 calls and WeChat reports, a year-on-year decrease of 47.97 percent. All cases were considered properly handled.
