Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province, will start construction on line 1 of its rail transmit in 2019, according to the government work report of Zheng Yi, mayor of Lijiang.

Line 1 has a total length of 19.52 kilometers and consists of five stations, including the Tourist Center, Baisha Ancient Town, Yushui Village, Dongba Valley, and Yulong Snow Mountain.

This means that in the near future, people will be able to access ancient towns and Yulong Snow Mountain by rail transmit.

The project is expected to start at the tourist center north of the College of Tourism and Culture of Yunnan University and end at the Ganhaizi Meadow tourist service area.

In addition to the railway, the government work report also said that Lijiang will accelerate construction on the Lijiang section of the Lijiang-Shangri-La Expressway, the Huaping-Lijiang Expressway, and the Yongsheng-Ninglang Expressway.
