Lijiang receives 414,800 tourists during Dragon Boat Festival

Lijiang in Southwest China's Yunnan province received a total of 414,800 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 29.81 percent, and generated tourism revenue of 528 million yuan ($76.36 million), a year-on-year increase of 21.03 percent, during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday that fell from June 7 to 9 this year.

Lijiang organized a series of cultural tourism activities, such as a Naxi traditional cuisine tasting activity and a Naxi wedding customs show, which provided visitors an opportunity to learn about the traditional food and folk culture customs of the Naxi ethnic group.

To meet the diversified needs of tourists, Lijiang's tourism industry has continuously improved infrastructure standards and service levels. A number of emerging tourism forms have taken shape, including caravan camps, star-gazing tours, and rural outdoor hiking tours.

The scenic spots of Lijiang also ensured that the tourism market was well organized through the improvement of passenger flow controls and volunteer consultation services, as well as the promotion of consultation and complaints platforms.
