Lijiang Yongsheng Lotus Flowers Festival kicks off

The 3rd Lotus Flowers Festival of Sanchuan town, Yongsheng county, Lijiang, Southwest China's Yunnan province kicked off on July 7, attracting many local residents and tourists to enjoy.

During the festival, a number of activities will be held, including the viewing of lotus flowers, cultural performances, a local snacks market, a photography collection, as well as a painting and calligraphy exhibition.

Located in the northern part of Yongsheng county, Sanchuan town is known for its reputation and honors such as the "Northwest Granary" and the "Home to Lotus Flowers."

To date, the town's lotus planting area has reached 6,200 mu (413.33 hectares), with the output value of more than 84 million yuan ($12.19 million).

Relying on its lotus planting industry, the town has become a new example of rural tourism integration. In the future, it will utilize its geographical advantage and business calling card of its highland lotus to create a shining path for rural tourism.
