3) UHV substation design
The Jindongnan- Nanyang- Jingmen 1,000-kV UHVAC transmission line is China's first transmission project of its kind, with a total length of 654 km and a 3.65-km span across the Yellow River and 2.96 km across the Hanjiang. It went into service in 2009 and won the National Quality Engineering Gold Medal the same year.
4) UHV substation design
The Xiangjiaba – Shanghai ±800-kV UHVDC transmission pilot project was China's first UHVDC transmission project and currently carries the highest DC voltage and is the most advanced DC transmission project in the world. The line is 1,891.6 km long and crosses the Yangtze River four times. It has a conversion capacity of 6,400 MW at 4,000 A DC. It went into operation in 2010 and won the National Quality Engineering Gold Medal for 2011.
