A seminar on small hydropower projects for Sierra Leone management personnel kicked off on Oct 11 in Changsha city. The seminar will last roughly one month. The 29 management personnel shall receive systematic training in small hydropower project management.
The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China and organized by Zhongnan Engineering Corporation. It is intended to provide training for hydropower management personnel in Sierra Leone and enhance economic cooperation and exchange in small hydropower project management between the two countries.
In the seminar, students will not only study the development history and facts of construction and management of small hydropower in a systematic way, but also practice tackling problems that often occur in small hydropower project management, such as the maintenance of hydraulic structure and the disintegration of oil switch parts. Moreover, they will visit the Jiangya hydropower station and Guanmenyan hydropower station in the town of Cili.
