The main part of the Kazungula transport hub project in Zambia, which was constructed by the Sinohydro Bureau 5 Co Ltd, a subsidiary of POWERCHINA, successfully passed the completion acceptance inspection by the supervision company on Oct 30.
The project is located in Kazungula district in Zambia's North-Western province and is adjacent to Botswana. It is an important transportation hub. The completion of the project will greatly ease the traffic pressure, as well as accelerate economic and cultural exchanges between Zambia and Botswana.
The project completed a total of 190,000 cubic meters of earthwork, 37,500 cubic meters of roadbed preparation, 60,900 square meters of asphalt concrete paving, 17,430 meters of curb gutter construction, as well as other earthwork and road ancillary works.
From Oct 26 to 28, the supervision company carried out a comprehensive completion acceptance inspection of the transport hub’s asphalt concrete pavement, road markings, curbs installations, and pedestrian floor tiles, issuing a completion certificate on Oct 30.
