Ding Zhengguo, Party committee secretary and president of POWERCHINA International Group, met Bangladesh Ambassador to China Mahbub Uz Zaman on Nov 23.
Ding extended a warm welcome on the visit of the ambassador and gave a briefing on the current position and performance of POWERCHINA.
He said Bangladesh had always been an important market in the company's Eurasian region and it attached great importance to developments in the fields of energy and power, water resources and the environment in Bangladesh.

Ding said that despite the adverse effects of the COVID-19 epidemic this year, POWERCHINA was still actively completing projects and was engaged in the development of new projects in Bangladesh.
The ambassador fully affirmed the capabilities of POWERCHINA, saying it was one of the largest international construction contracting companies operating in his country and hoped it would participate in more projects to come.
During the exchange, the ambassador held detailed talks on POWERCHINA's projects, with specific reference to the Padma River Rehabilitation Project and the Dasher Gandhi Sewage Treatment Plant Project.
The ambassador said these projects were of great significance and he urged POWERCHINA to continue doing its great job.
