Yantai: Exports of steel, ships, machinery/electronic goods and apples in Yantai, Shandong province, will soon benefit from ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (FTA) construction.
As of January next year, the average tariff charged on goods exported to ASEAN countries will be reduced to zero from the present 2.4%-- an exciting prospect not only for export enterprises, but also for import ones.
"With a preference certificate of origin from the ASEAN supplier, foreign enterprises can also have access to China preferential import tariffs," said Qi Xiaoqing, deputy director of the Yantai Foreign Trade Department.
