"China's Most Valuable Brands List" was announced in New York on Wednesday, with 100 Chinese consumer brands making the cut.
Haier Group, with 81.2 billion yuan, took first place for the eighth consecutive time. Lenovo, Gome, Wuliangye, China FAW, Midea, TCL, Moutai, Qingdao Beer and Chongqing Chang’an Automobile ranked in the top 10.
By establishing a localized design center, manufacturing bases and trading companies in more than 30 countries around the world, Haier Group has become the world's fourth largest home appliances manufacturer. It has developed into a large-scale multinational group with a global staff of more than 50,000.
The list has been published for 15 consecutive years by RREEF Global Rating and Beijing Famous-brand Evaluation Co Ltd. The 100 brands on the list indicate China’s most influential consumer brands and the core of China's real economy and top business representatives.
Results of the study also showed that the automobile industry suffered the largest impact due to the financial crisis, while the household appliances industry performed basically the same as brand development. In contrast, the manufacturing industry related to food and clothing had a sharp increase of about 20%.
China's Internet brand saw rapid growth. According to statistics, in the past year the average speed of China's Internet brand development was 64%, making Internet brands the biggest for business potential in China.
