A low-carbon industrial park is being constructed in Anqiu, Shandong province with a total investment of up to 10 billion yuan, according to Xinhuanet.
Taking up an area of 5 sq km, the project, jointly developed by the local government and CNPC Kunlun Natural Gas Corporation, is expected to help adjust and upgrade the city’s industrial structures.
The park has been designed to take advantage of plentiful natural gas sources to bring in large enterprises and projects which feature low carbon-emissions, low energy-consumption, low pollution and high added value.
The goal of the park is to accelerate the development of the popular low-carbon-model economy and use existing energy sources more efficiently.
