The Taishan Mountain scenic area will offer off-season prices from Dec 1 to Jan 31, cutting ticket prices from 125 yuan per person to 100 yuan per person.
The Taishan Mountain scenic area is among the first few scenic areas in China that adopted two ticket price systems in accordance with the change of seasons. Beginning Dec 1, the mountain's regular adult ticket fee will be reduced from 150 yuan to 100 yuan. Ticket prices will be 50 yuan for students with valid identification cards and visitors older than 60.
Ticket prices will be 80 yuan per person for teachers, model workers, heroes and moral models at the provincial or higher level who bring valid documents. The scenic area offers free access to in-service soldiers, veteran soldiers with injuries caused in wartime, retired cadres, people with disabilities, journalists, children under 1.2 meters in height, and citizens who are 70 and older who bring valid IDs.
With the tickets, tourists can visit every scenic pot in the Taishan Mountain scenic area except for Daiding Xixie Temple, which still charges an admission price of 5 yuan per person. Other affiliated scenic sites, such as Daimiao Temple and Puzhao Temple, do not participate in the winter discount campaign.
A staff member working at the Taishan Mountain scenic area said winter is an ideal season for a visit, when the air is fresh and clear with high visibility. Even the winter snow will add to the attraction of Taishan Mountain, decorating the area with a white quilt, the staff member said.
"For the senior citizens and students, who have flexible time but are more sensitive to the price, winter would be an ideal time to visit Taishan Mountain,” said a spokesman for Kanghui Tourism Agency.
