Those who are interested in the traditional Chinese Spring Festival may find their revelry in Shandong from Jan 1 to Feb 6, 2012, as the province launches a provincial campaign to celebrate it.
Yu Chong, head of the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau welcomes everyone who is interested in Shandong culture or the festival to join in on the big celebration party.
Counties across Shandong will present a variety of activities featuring the local culture and customs. This will be offered in the form of banquets, performances, agricultural products and handicraft.
The famous scenic spots will also hold activities in celebration of the festival.
Shandong has 12 tourist spots to visit, including the Taishan Mountain at Tai'an city to pray for blessings. Tourists can also enjoy hot spring spas and skiing at 26 entertainment places.
Last year, the Spring Festival celebration attracted 41 million tourists to the province. According to the Shandong Provincial Tourism Bureau, as many as 45 million are expected to come to Shandong this year.
