More than 130 reporters and editors from 60 web media organizations gathered in Jinan on May 13 to embark on a six-day fact-finding interview on Shandong's scientific development.

Sun Shougang, head of the Shandong Provincial Party Publicity Department, said at the launching ceremony that the gross domestic product reached 4.5 trillion yuan ($713.3 billion) last year, a year-on-year increase of 10.9 percent. Sun hoped interviews from the web media organizations would review Shandong's development and promote the development of the province's web culture.

Reporters will cover eleven cities including Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai and Jining. Live broadcasts will be given in each city, according to Liu Zhifu, director of the web office under the Shandong Provincial Publicity Department.
