A book fair marked the 10th anniversary of the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development was held on May 20 in Shandong province's Jining city, the hometown of the ancient Chinese philosopher, Confucius.
As a part of the second Nishan Forum on world civilization, which was held from May 21 to 23, the fair showcased more than 1,000 kinds of books on different civilizations from 130 publishers nationwide.
A bookstore was established by the organizing committee of Nishan Forum at the fair, which is designed to show all books and essays collected from the biennial forum and introduce the Chinese traditional culture to the world.
Nishan Forum, initiated by Xu Jialu, former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, is an internationally academic event. The forum is dedicated to enhance the Chinese culture and promote exchanges among the world's diverse civilizations.
