Qingdao Port volumes rank seventh worldwide

Qingdao Port cargo throughput reached 450 million tons in 2013, an increase of 10.6 percent compared with the previous year. The container-handling capacity reached 15.52 million tons, an increase of seven percent compared with the previous year. According to statistics issued by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange, the cargo throughput and container-handling capacity of Qingdao Port rose to seventh place from eighth place worldwide. The container-handling capacity rose to fourth from fifth place domestically.

The latest top 10 ports with the biggest global volumes in 2013 are as follows: Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Shanghai Port, Singapore Port, Tianjin Port, Guangzhou Port, Suzhou Port, Qingdao Port, Tangshan Port, Rotterdam Port and Dalian Port.

The most recent top 10 ports with the biggest global container-handling capacity in 2013 are as follows: Shanghai Port, Singapore Port, Shenzhen Port, Fushan Port, Ningbo-Zhoushan Port, Qingdao Port, Guangzhou Port, Port of Dubai and Tianjin Port.
