“Kidscreen East” press conference & opening ceremony, co-sponsored by the Kidscreen and China Animation Association, and hosted by Qingdao University of Science & Technology and the Qingdao Rubber Valley Co., Ltd, was held at Qingdao, in eastern Shandong province on July 20.

Qingdao’s mayor, Zhang Xinqi, and Lei Yuanliang, vice-chairman of the China Radio and Television Association, attended the opening ceremony.

The summit, which will last from July 22 to July 24, aims at providing new ideas and paths for the development of China's animation industry by learning from international classic cases and related experiences.

Yu Peixia, chairman of the China Animation Association, said “It is an exchange and cooperation platform for areas such as program planning, derivatives selling, copyright trading, and so on.”
