Shandong Museum, in the city of Jinan, Shandong province, sponsored a two-day International Conference on Plant Culture and the Environment, on Aug 20 that drew in more than 100 specialists from Britain, Japan, India, and other countries, to speak on topics as varied as Plant Culture, the Origins of Agriculture, Wood Culture, Religion-related Plants, Agarwood Culture, and Mengshan Mountain Culture.

The organizer was the Chinese Science Academy’s Botany Institute, the Botanical Society of China, Shandong province Culture Dept, and Shandong Cultural Relics Bureau.
