Qingdao recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the city of Edmonton, capital of Alberta, Canada, concerning an economic partnership, the Chinese-language Qingdao Daily reported on April 4.

According to the MOU, the two cities will cooperate on developing bilateral trade and business and have exchange of information and preferential policies for investment and trade. Particular focus will be placed on energy, tourism, education and culture.
