Kay Johannsen, artistic director of the Collegiate Music Association Stuttgart in Germany, will give a musical feast with a pipe organ at the Qingdao Grand Theater on May 2, according to the Chinese-language Qingdao Daily.
With nearly one and a half's year design and installation work, the pipe organ sponsored by Qingdao Grand Theater is worth nearly 20 million yuan ($3.2 million).
"We are listed among the top 15 music halls in the country to obtain the pipe organ," said a staff member of the Qingdao Grand Theater, adding that the pipe organ featured Qingdao's coastal elements on its shape and tone.
As the founder of Stuttgart Choir, Johannsen and his ensemble won the German Choir Competition in 2006. |
