The coastal city of Yantai in Shandong province ranked second in tourist satisfaction among 60 sample cities. The results were published in a report about tourist satisfaction for the first quarter of 2015 and were released by the China Tourism Academy.

Yantai made its way from 16th place in 2014 to the second place in 2015, thanks to its efforts on improving the tourism environment, service and infrastructure.

The assessment was conducted through a survey among tourists and feedback from the Internet. A total of 60 candidate cities were assessed across the categories of city image, public service, environment and the number of tourism complaints.

Chongqing and Tianjin were also among the top three cities on the list.
