A red-culture-themed media tour around Yantai, Shandong province kicked off on May 7, which saw 11 famous bloggers and some journalists from various media outlets taking part to popularize Yantai's red culture. The event will last for six days.
As part of the activities to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, micro bloggers and journalists were invited to visit Yantai's revolutionary sites and memorial halls and were encouraged to promote the red culture in the area with their media expertise.
Yantai has a profound history in the formation of the modern day Peoples Republic of China and a number of important revolutionary events occurred in the city. In 2013, Yantai set up a group to explore red culture and build the city into a red culture education base.
