More than 200 Hong Kong-based enterprises in the service sector showcased creative ideas and products at the Smart HK exposition from May 27 to 28. The exposition was held in Jinan, the capital city of Shandong province.
"The exposition aims at building a platform for enterprises from HK and Shandong to seek win-win cooperation," said Margaret Fong, executive director of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), at the exposition.
Fong said that with the help of being promoted by the national development strategy, Shandong is optimizing its economic structure by upgrading its traditional industries, cultivating emerging industries and boosting the service industry. Meanwhile, according to Fong, Hong Kong is a world-famous center of a wide range of service sectors like finance and logistics. "HK and Shandong are highly complementary, indicating that there is huge potential for win-win cooperation," he said.
Fong hopes that Hong Kong-based enterprises can seize the opportunities offered by the Belt and Road Initiative and seek for more cooperation with Shandong enterprises in the sectors of infrastructure and real estate.
The two-day exposition featured a CEO forum and 14 seminars. It focused on the three aspects of innovative design and marketing, technological advancement and management upgrading.
