Masses of fish were released during an activity at the Yellow Sea Entertainment Park in Yantai, Shandong province, on June 8 to mark World Oceans Day.
Sponsored by the Yantai Ocean and Fisheries Bureau and Huahai Insurance Company, the activity attracted more than 500 residents and volunteers, who helped release around 100,000 fingerlings into the Yellow Sea.
Children and volunteers were the main drivers of the release. One female participant surnamed Song said, "It is the second time for us to take part in the fish-release activity and two of my children feel happy. The activity can help them gain an awareness of protecting ocean resources."
