The Penglai tourism bureau of Yantai, Shandong province will boost the local tourism through cooperation with airline companies, according to an announcement at a meeting held on July 7 at Penglai International Airport in Yantai.
An official informed that during the meet, Penglai tourism bureau signed an agreement with Asiana Airlines, based on which Asiana Airlines will organize package tours for South Koreans to visit Yantai.
Representatives from 10 other airline companies including Air China, China Eastern, China Southern Airlines and Shandong Airlines shared their views on Yantai's tourism cooperation with airline companies. Their suggestions focused on discounted scenic spot tickets with boarding passes and one-stop services integrating air tickets, hotels and scenic spot tickets.
Since the Penglai International Airport came into use on May 28, the number of tourists visiting Penglai increased by 13 percent compared with the same period of last year. To gear up for the upcoming summer tourism peak, the Penglai International Airport has opened new routes to Hangzhou, Xi'an, Changbai Mountain, Tangshan, Chifeng, Mianyang, Datong, Yinchuan and Hohhot. |
