Yantai laid out economic and social development goals for 2016, which includes an 8 percent growth of growth domestic product (GDP), at the economic work conference on Jan 13.
The government forecast covers provincial economic and social development of the year 2016 and notes that local public revenue is expected to grow by 9.5 percent, urban incomes at 8 percent, and rural incomes at 8.5 percent.
The consumer price index is expected to grow lower than 3 percent.
An official said on the occasion that apart from developing smart and green industries, Yantai will encourage overseas purchasing and cruise tour, and focus on construction of a string of transportation projects, covering railways, highways and waterways. The foundation laying of city’s rail transit project is expected to be done in 2016.
While other efforts also include building a 'sponge city' and smart city, renovation of sewage pipes and expansion of free WiFi coverage. |
