Qingdao Cross-border E-commerce Base, a strategic cooperation project between Qingdao's Licang district and Shandong Foreign Trade Vocational College, opened on Jan 15, the Qingdao Daily reported.

The base is the first of its kind in Qingdao, which will make use of the college's resources in talent and partnership enterprises to boost local e-commerce trade as a part of ongoing industrial transformation.

Located in the 1688 Creative Industry Park, the base serves as a platform displaying well-known local enterprises and encouraging communication between buyers and suppliers as well as providing various import, export and financing services.

In addition, the project will offer internships for college students and help them start their own businesses.
