With the discussions and reviews of different municipal committee's reports, approval of next five year plan and vouching to high-speed growth, the sixth session of the 16th Yantai Municipal People's Congress ended at Yantai International Expo Center on Feb 20.

During the four-day session, members of the CPPCC Yantai municipal committee discussed the reports of the Standing Committee of the Yantai Municipal Committee of the CPPCC. The members also discussed the reports of the Yantai municipal government, the Yantai Municipal Middle People's Court and the Yantai Municipal People's Procuratorate.

It also reviewed and approved Yantai's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) and specifically the plan as well as budget for 2016. During the session, members also went through the city's economic and social achievements in 2015 including its budget performance.

The mayor Meng Fanli said that the port city will adapt to the economic new normal - sustainable, mid- to high-speed growth with higher efficiency and lower costs. The city will focus on innovative, coordinated, ecological, open and harmonious development. And it will help improve the regional competitiveness, added the mayor.
