Shandong has 273 registered museums and 751 national cultural relic preservation institutes, with a total collection of 2.68 million relics, according to Wang Hongyong, deputy director of the publicity department of Shandong province.

Shandong plans to set up another 50 county-level museums, and will host 20 featuring traditional cultural exhibitions.
