According to Singaporean authorities, Shandong is the first Chinese province to hold its cultural year in the center since its establishment.

The cultural year incorporates many activities, including an exhibition displaying 40 paintings from 20 local contemporary artists, an exchange of paintings and calligraphy as well as various lectures.
