Shandong hosts national dancing achievement exhibition
The news conference of the Achievement Exhibition of the 11th "Taoli Cup", a national dancing education performance of China, was held on Aug 13 in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, chinanews.com reported.

The six-day achievement exhibition is being co-sponsored by China's Ministry of Culture (MOC), Shandong provincial department of culture, Shandong provincial education department and Shandong University of Arts. Some 46 universities and colleges from China and abroad are taking part in the achievement exhibition, which will last from Aug 14 to 19.
A total of 110 performances have been shortlisted, including performances of Chinese classic dance, Chinese ethnic and folk dance, ballet, international ballroom and social dancing.
Sun Ruofeng, division head of culture, science and technology under the MOC, stated at the news conference that this year's achievement exhibition will focus on regional culture and cultural inheritance, as well as dancing education. Sun added that the event is geared to training dancers and reducing competitiveness.
Also taking place will be professional seminars to discuss dance curriculums, standards, artistic practice and continuing inherited traditions of Chinese ethnic and folk dancing cultures.
