Chinese cultural showcase entices Peru
A spectacular showcase of Chinese classical opera costumes was staged by Shandong artists on Nov 20 at the theater of the Municipal Palace of Lima. The Peruvian audience was amazed and fascinated by the Chinese cultural display.
As a major part of the "Exploring China" activity taking place in Peru, the performance, brought about by some 90 artists from Shandong troupes and universities, was selected to be staged at the opening ceremony of the 2016 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meetings in Peru.
The performance received a warm reception from the local citizens.
"The show is fantastic and it generates an intense interest in Chinese culture. I want to know more about China," said Izquierda, a local artist.
Ana Maria, a local citizen, said that the performance was enjoyable, and she hopes that more Chinese cultural and artistic performances would take place in Peru.
