Confucius academy opens branch in Shanxi
Qufu Confucius Culture Academy opened a new branch in Jinzhong on Dec 15, furthering the dissemination of Confucianism in Shanxi province.
The branch, located at the local Shanxi Dadejin Tea Culture Research Institute will offer training courses, study tours, education on the proper morals for a teacher and teaching in the six ancient arts (rites, music, archery, chariot usage, calligraphy and mathematics).

"The branch aims to make traditional culture and values understood by the younger generation in Shanxi, especially children, rooting virtues in their mind and promoting Confucianism," said Zhang Donghai, president of Shanxi branch of the academy.
Qufu Confucius Culture Academy based in Qufu, Shandong province, was founded by Yan Tinggan, a descendant of Yan Hui in the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) and the favorite disciple of Confucius.
The academy has been committed to conducting Confucian education and advancing international cultural cooperation since its establishment. The major subjects now include Confucian medicine, Sinology and physical exercise.
