Shandong Art Troupe celebrates Chinese New Year in Mongolia
With joyful and distinctive Chinese music, dances and martial arts performances, Shandong artists brought their best New Year's wishes to the people of Mongolia at the 2017 Happy Chinese New Year Gala on Jan 19.
Hundreds of attendees, including government officials, commercial representatives, Chinese students and media members, took part in the event.
Jointly organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, the Ulan Bator Chinese Culture Center and the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture, the gala was part of a Chinese New Year celebration series held in Ulan Bator, Mongolia from Jan 18 to 22.
An exhibition featuring Shandong's intangible cultural heritages, including sugar painting, woodcut New Year pictures, paper cuttings and tai chi, attracted many local children and their families on Jan 21.
Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming said that the event would help Mongolians to better understand Chinese culture and promote bilateral humanities exchanges. Shandong and Mongolia share a good basis of cultural exchanges and economic cooperation, and the event will improve the friendship between Shandong and Mongolia.
