The annual folk festival -- Dongyue Temple Fair -- is in full swing on sacred Mount Tai in Tai'an city, Shandong province, with an array of vibrant artistic performances, exhibitions and custom shows to take place during the six-day pageant.

1. Traditional handicraft show

Venue: Ren'an Gate of Dai Temple on Mount Tai

Traditional handicrafts of Tai'an city are highlighted in the show, including clay sculpture, paper cutting, embroidery, wood carving and New Year woodcut pictures.

2. Traditional kite exhibition

Time: April 11 to 16

Venue: Peitian Gate of Dai Temple on Mount Tai

Organized by the China Arts and Crafts Association, the exhibition presents high-quality traditional kites made by the country's top artisans decades ago.

 

3. Jingdezhen fine porcelain exhibition

Time: April 11 to 16

Venue: Yuhua Taoist Courtyard of Dai Temple on Mount Tai

Through this exhibition visitors can appreciate the unique porcelain culture of Jingdezhen, a city hailed as "China's Porcelain Capital".

The exhibition collects recent examples of superfine Jingdezhen porcelain.

Jingdezhen's history of porcelain-making goes back 1,700 years. The city's unique clay resources and time-honored craftsmanship make it a Mecca for porcelain lovers and tourists alike.
