Works by young artists from Shandong debut in Yantai

An exhibition of landscape paintings by 21 young artists from East China's Shandong province opened on Aug 5 in Yantai.

The exhibition features paintings of former revolutionary bases in Shandong province, Mount Tai, Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, China's best-known ancient sage and educator, and other iconic places in the province.

From paintings of well-known springs Baotu and Wulongtan in Jinan, capital city of Shandong, to magnificent mountains such as Mount Tai and Kunyu Mountain, the 21 young artists from the Shandong Artists Association, the Shandong Fine Art Academy, universities in Shandong and professional painting organizations presented a treasure trove of masterpieces for art lovers.

Zhang Wang, president of the Shandong Artists Association and curator of the Shandong Art Museum, spoke highly of the rising artists' works.

They artistically depict the beautiful landscapes in Shandong province and are representative of the young landscape painters in the province and even the country, Zhang praised.

Li Yanzhi, one of the young artists, said he wished to experience collisions of ideas and art techniques at the exhibition, and find aspirations for future works. Zhang Jinggang, a painter from the Yantai Fine Art Academy also brought his works to the exhibition.

The Yantai exhibition is the first in a series of the exhibitions, with others yet to be staged in Qingdao, Weifang, Zibo and Linyi cities in the province.
