Belt and Road sculptures wow in Qingdao

Held at the Qingdao Sculpture Gallery, the exhibition was organized by the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association and the Qingdao municipal government. On display were over 150 works created by some 130 sculptors from China and 21 countries along the Belt and Road.

"Although they are creations from different cultures, national identities and aesthetic mentality, all of them take the form of sculpture art to co-shape the spirit of the Belt and Road," said Wu Weishan, curator of the National Art Museum of China and chairman of the Chinese Urban Sculpture Artists Association.

According to one official from the Qingdao government, the exhibition took almost a year to plan and has provided new modes and inspirations for sculpture creation, increased mutual learning among cultures and promoted international exchanges.
