Thousands of seagulls descend on Yantai
The recent cold weather in Siberia and Mongolia has sent tens of thousands of seagulls southwards to the coastal city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province.
Several estuaries in Yantai witnessed the spectacular gatherings of migratory seagulls, which include various varieties such as the herring gull, black-tailed gull, red-billed gull, slaty-backed gull and black-headed gull.
The harmonious ecology and sufficient food resources make Yantai an ideal place for migratory birds to spend the winter.
