The Ninth Crabapple Cultural Tourism Festival will open on March 25 in grand style in Linyi, Shandong province, as the city's Chinese flowering crabapples will embrace their florescence period in the coming month.

A special stamp collocation featuring the voluptuous flower will also be issued at the opening ceremony of the annual event.

Jointly organized by the Linyi municipal government, Linyi municipal tourism development committee and the Linyi branch of China Post, the event is designed to attract more tourists to local scenic spots during the flowery springtime, as well as promote its flower-plant industry.

The event will last until April 25.

Crabapple is the city flower of Linyi which has been cultivated and planted in abundance in the city.
