ICH expo concludes in Jinan
The Fifth China Intangible Cultural Heritage Expo wrapped up in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on Sept 17.
Jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Shandong provincial government, this five-day expo attracted 82,000 people to visit and participate.
Five-part activities, one main venue, ten sub-venues and various other related activities comprehensively demonstrated achievements made in the protecting of ICH on a national level in recent years.
At the main venue of the expo, performances of traditional intangible cultural arts, competitions of traditional crafts, interactive experiences of intangible culture and academic forums fully demonstrated the relationships between intangible cultures and the people taking part in the activities. Furthermore, an ICH video & image exhibition exhibited 71 selected works at the various venues. As a renowned event of the expo, the competition of traditional craft also attracted hundreds of craftspeople to participate.
At the same time, in a bid to make sure intangible cultures could be experienced by more people, this expo invited many related intangible cultural projects to demonstrate and performance in 300 residential communities and 25 schools, as well as in other public places.
As the largest ICH event in China, the successful hosting of the expo is of great significance to the inheritance of Chinese traditional culture and the implementation of the ICH protection concept.
In addition to the participation of traditional media, to meet the different demands of subscribers and extend the influences of the expo, live streaming of each activity took place to allow audiences to savor the expo in real time online.
